Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Nikki M — 08 Aug 2009
When I first watched this film in 2000, it really didn't leave any impression on me other then Damon is creepy . I re-watched it two nights ago and was blown away. This is a solid film from top to bottom.
I only have one criticism. The ending was too coincidental. It was at least the second time in the film that Ripley accidentally bumps into somebody. I can see what the ramifications of this encounter brings and why the director wanted to leave Ripley's character in that state.
But come on....they went to the well too many times.
