Review of The Tale of Despereaux (2008) by David B — 23 Dec 2012

I don't understand the poor reviews of this movie. Emma Watson plays the princess and its easily better and more mature than any Harry Potter she's done. If you like highly stylized art, excellent voice action, and great narration this is for you.

The underlying themes are of great moral character and the characters themselves are great. The story has a dark side and is worthy of adult attention as well. In fact, it maybe above the average adult mindset which may account for the poor reviews.

I guess "its not as good as the book" but like that hasn't been uttered by book snobs about every book to movie adaptation. If you like magical tales that are honest and free of cheesy pop culture BS I recommend this.

I found almost everything about this to be beautifully done and gives me hope for the future. Because I am a gentleman...
