Review of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) by Carl M — 25 Mar 2009
"Your train has been taken.".
A great 70s heist flick back when you didn't need an explosion every 60 seconds. Robert Shaw plays the very memorable ice-cold villain, Mr. Blue. Walter Matthau also does a good job playing the tired old police lieutenant destined to catch him. A great deal of entertainment stems from the precise calculated plan the hijackers execute and how the transit authority try to adapt and overcome. The constant race against time really kicks the movie into gear and doesn't stop until resolution is absolute. The film also features a great score.
