Well-done, intelligent thriller features Walter Matthau facing off against Robert Shaw over a hijacked subway train. With a witty, acerbic script, deep cast of 70's "that guys", realistic action and use of the then gritty NYC atmosphere, this is the kind of adult action pic that Hollywood is incapable of delivering anymore.
