Review of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) by Ken L — 01 Oct 2010
Didn't have the impact it could/should have because I watched the recent remake first, and despite it having dated a fair bit, I can certainly appreciate how good it was for its time. Worth watching before or instead of the new one if you've seen neither. Some good characters and some subtle humour, and ain't those New Yoikers all so grumpy! I did find Walter Matthau's character did everything a little too easily.
Also interesting to see how things have improved in the age of political correctness - just look at the credits!
