Review of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) by Greg W — 25 May 2009
Forget about that upcoming remake - no matter how good it is, the original's version of a New York City subway train held for ransom will always be one of the seminal NYC flicks. Stellar casting all around, excellent, tight direction and more than a few surprises will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout.
Loads of colorful raw language here (gotta love the banter between the transit workers in the control center), the action is paced perfectly, and at times, the film is funny as hell. Plus, the ending is supreme, trust me.
