Review of The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974) by Rob J — 20 Feb 2010
I haven't seen the remake but when I heard they were doing one, my thought was "Why?" Not only does this movie perfect the concept of "black humor", it is one of the most realistic portrayals of New York City IMO.
Certainly, it is one of very few movies that show a *genuine* Manhattan apartment. Also it does a good job of portraying the city in all its 1970s screwy, on-the-ropes glory.
