Review of The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014) by Andrea B — 30 Aug 2016
Jill Larson undertook a character requiring her to be competent, incompetent, frightened, frightening, tortured, sadistic, tragic and antagonistic throughout the story arc, and she performed BRILLIANTLY. I never once felt any force behind her acting.
Anyone who has taken care of a mental invalid, and many of us have, will find a certain pang of understanding watching Deborah Logan. That viewer investment shifts quietly into the realm of the insidious deftly, with a shocking visual at the climax that has burnt into my eye sockets for good.
