Review of The Sword of Doom (1966) by Nikolai E — 06 Feb 2008
Worth a look if only for the epic tracking shot fight scene in the forest, which is the equal of any modern long-take action sequence. It works as a straight action movie, but it's got an art house aspect, especially in the ending, that provides some requisite depth.
In some ways it's the inverse of Le Samourai; France meets Japan, new wave meets pop culture.
