Review of The Sword of Doom (1966) by Jeremiah L — 07 Mar 2008
Had this movie been carried on as planned into an epic series, it would've made an easy 5 and me instantly whoring my credit card on ebay to try and get a copy. Instead I am disppaointed at how this movie ends with SO unresolved conflicts...
Nonetheless, the last two scenes are the most violent sword fighting I've seen to date. This in comparison to Kill Bill, LOTR and TROY. I am also impressed at the complex anti-hero depiction of Ryunosuke, again rivarling some of the villians in today's cinema such as Bill, Mr. Glass and SARUMAN!!
Out of all the shit shows they try to remake and even hack up into cheap tv series, they should just save themselves the trouble and adapt this movie and the book it was based on (same name, written by Kaizan Nakazato).
