Review of The Sword of Doom (1966) by Brandon V — 26 Oct 2009
A seriously well-made film with epic fight scenes, beautiful cinematography, and a very disturbed, conflicting main character. It's hard to say what exactly was so wrong with him. He follows a code to which he feels pride and duty too, but seems to have no recognizable human emotions in him at all, killing like a machine. At the end though, he becomes something almost demonic. The sword of doom indeed.
The only element that let this movie down were the sound effects, which were horrible enough to be a significant blemish in an otherwise great film.
