Review of The Sweet Hereafter (1997) by Nikki N — 20 Aug 2007
Beautiful and wrenching, one of the few films that adequately captures the crushingly enormous love of parents for their children. The film's central tragedy is beautifully framed by the bleakly lovely winter landscape of interior British Columbia.
Haunting and deeply moving, this is a great adaptation and Egoyan's best film to date.
