Review of The Sweet Hereafter (1997) by Andrew E — 04 Jul 2009
As poetic and symbolic as films get, "The Sweet Hereafter" is a bold study of loss and grief healing the wounds of deceit, lies, and harm. Ian Holm and Sarah Polley give outstanding performances amongst a solid supporting cast in Atom Egoyan's best and most hauntingly beautiful film.
It infamously stays in your head, instigating jarring thoughts regarding redemption and grief.
