Review of The Sweet Hereafter (1997) by Rajiv 2 — 22 Feb 2010
Great exercise in non-linear storytelling, this was my first Atom Egoyan experience, and my third with Sarah Polley (My Life WIthout Me and The Secret Life of Words). I just say wow, these movies are intense.
Ian Holm is pivotal, and how about the accident? I just can't imagine a town that suddenly becomes "childless" after a tragedy, no kids, no explanation, no future? And no, this is not a spoiler, because this one is not about the suspense.
