Review of The Sunset Limited (2011) by Chris D — 25 Oct 2012
At first I thought it was a bit cheap to have just one set and nothing else, I never liked theater and this came across exactly like theater. However after a short while the dialogue grabbed me and I found that that the set didn't matter, all that matters are the words.
It's a story, not so much about good vs. evil or theism vs. nihilism, but about light v.s darkness and both sides make an equal amount of sense. Very impressive and definitly worth a re-watch (it's also worth watching again because it's hard to stay focused all through this heavy stuff, so you might get it better the second time).
The acting was theatrical, which I don't usually like, but maybe you need that kind of acting to carry that type of dialogue.
