A funny thing happened on the way to work.

A man that resides in New York City is sick of life and the way of society. He decides to leap in front of a train and kill himself; however, a man decides to catch the leaping man and saves him. The savior takes the leaping man back to his apartment to discuss philosophy. Which man will win the war of words?

"They told me I had lost half my blood. I remember slipping around in it, but I thought it was his.".

Tommy Lee Jones, director of The Good Old Boys and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, delivers Sunset Limited. The storyline for this film is interesting but a bit unfulfilling. The premise for the film is worthwhile, but the conclusion leaves plenty for the imagination. The script is clever and well written and the acting, by Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones (the only two actors in this film), is brilliant.

"Who would claim to be a murderer that wasn't one?".

This film contains some wonderful takes on society and religion. The stories told by each man are fascinating and well told and the cast delivers the characters to perfection. The film is told based on the writing for Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men and The Road). I strongly recommend seeing this movie based on its intelligence and delivery.

"Maybe they're your brothers in self destruction and despair.".

Grade: B.
