Review of The Sunset Limited (2011) by Marcus B — 09 Sep 2011
"The Sunset Limited" (i'm not even sure its right to call it a movie, it's a theater play, plain and simple) is pretentious as hell, but I think that it would be hard to avoid being that for a movie that seriously tries to tackle issues of meaning of life, death, faith and a couple more lightweight issues like that.
I may just as well follow the example of the movie and pompously declare that if you don't have at least mild interest in philosophy and theology, avoid this one like a plague. It will bore you to tears and you'll probably won't understand half of what's being said.
For the rest of you, enjoy a rather rare thing these days - two top of the line actors going at it, no holds barred in a dialogue that has moments of true brilliance.
