Review of The Sum of Us (1994) by Leeroy C — 20 Oct 2008
It is pleasant to see Russell Crowe, who usually portrays overly masculine characters, play a gay character as it shows his sensitive and gentle side. And it would be great to have a dad like the one here who is very understanding of his son's sexuality and totally unashamed of who his son is.
The father and his son also have such a close bond and a healthy relationship. Besides that, the film is quite average and the self-reflexivity makes the film seem less realistic.
