Ben Affleck is simply not up to the task of succeeding Harrison Ford and Alec Baldwin as Jack Ryan, the changes made to the book are not really a positive, and even Liev Schreiber doing a solid job reprising Willem Dafoe's John Clark can't save a thoroughly mediocre thriller.
