Review of The Sugarland Express (1974) by Dustin G — 21 Nov 2011
From here The Spiel would go on to Jaws and world domination but this, along with the equally good, if not better Duel, shows it was never a fluke, even from the very start. Great, Spiebergian camerawork is on display throughout, and an ear for a good story and how to tell it helps keep this from ever being boring. The acting is great, although Goldie Hawn's character gets annoying here and there, and the ending feels just right, which is always a bonus with a Spielberg flick.
It's impressive, but you wouldn't expect anything less from the Man.
