Review of The Substitute (1996) by Dan Y — 01 Dec 2009
Anyone who was in high school will appreciate what happens here: Tom Berenger opens a can of whoop ass with a slug chaser on a bunch of disrespectful, arrogant, brain fried prick teenagers. But one of them is more than that, he's part of a drug ring that is inside the school and the circle includes people higher up than students.
Shale (Berenger) is a mercenary who ends up being put out work when he and his team's latest operation ends up going bad. Back in Miami, his girlfriend is attacked by a thug at the direction of the head thug in the high school she teaches at. Shale decides to be the substitute and give some payback for his lady being hurt, possibly finding some money in the process since it is clear to him that there are drugs at this school. He finds a serious criminal enterprise, using the high school as a base of operations. Along with his team of bad asses, Shale takes them on.
Get some butter soaked popcorn, your favorite candy, a cold drink and enjoy this awesomeness.
