Review of The Stuff (1985) by Jeff B — 29 Jan 2011
I'd never heard of this film before I saw an article recently that mentioned. Of course when I heard the plot of killer yogurt, I just had to watch it. Pretty much the whole plot was spoofed a couple times in Futurama (twice actually regarding Slurm and Popplers) but this movie is hilarious to begin with.
A couple guys find a white substance, so of course they taste it, it's delicious, and they get it marketed as The Stuff and it becomes a national sensation. But of course, The Stuff is alive and ist trying to take over the world.
Extremely 80s with crummy visual effects, brilliant 80s commercial jingles, and the classic working woman dresses and hair (and an 80s limo which is just perfect to look at). I can't help but love this movie, it's just too spectacular.
And remember, enough is never enough.
