It works mostly on it's simplicity and viceral stylatisitc choices. It's hardly smart, it's hardly original, but it is a pure, adrenaline ride with stand out horror set pieces. It won't win any awards and it surely doesn't raise the bar.
But if you're a horror junkie like myself there's mountains of fun to be had in it's purity and simplicity.
