Review of The Strangers (1998) by James W — 20 Nov 2013
Once the first knock at the door is heard, you'll shiver. The Strangers will fill you with dread as the dark build up cranks up the tension, leaving Liv Tyler's character all alone and you know someone is out there watching her.
It literally is that moment the film gets going when Scott Speedman's character leaves Liv Tyler's character all by herself that you know something is going to happen. Teasing you from all directions, The Strangers throws in scare after scare with extreme unpredictability, the bloody slasher elements work so well with the suspense and the ending is unforgettable and very cold.
The Strangers will scare you to wits end, and I love that they concealed the killers, the illusion would've been shattered had they been seen.
