It's a very touching story, involving real life people as it is based on a real event. richard farnsworth is absolutely marvelous as alvin. I must say I was quite surprised by how different it is to the other works of david lynch.

but I still love this film and the other ones as well! it made me want to go over there and lay in some fields... until alvin would passed in front of me, then I would go meet him and give him a big hug.
