Review of The Story of Us (1999) by Aaron H — 03 Apr 2008
High points:
- High/Low game.
- Betty White.
- Montage featuring the song "Classical Gas".
Low Points:
- Bad acting (Michelle Pfeiffer couldn't even shed a tear in what should have been the most emotional scene.).
- Bad writing (She couldn't shed a tear because the situation didn't seem real. People don't usually have elaborate speeches prepared every other second, and they certainly don't come up with them on the spot.).
- Rita Wilson (Noone gets that worked up over toilet paper, and it's very hard to start crying hysterically in the middle of a workout about someone else's marriage ending - they're called endorphins, they make you happy, and they're hard to overcome.).
Overall:
- I was expecting a LOT better.
