Review of The Stoning of Soraya M. (2009) by Rich W — 21 Nov 2010
A Stunning, beautifull, heartbreaking sad film about the true story of a woman in Iran that was murder after being falselly accused by her husband. A movie that could have well being called "The evil that men do",for in this movie men are the monsters.
A movie that is not anti-Islam but anti-evil,a cry against the cruellity, the abuse of women in Iran, and most muslim countries that follow a blind interpretation of the Koran. A movie that opens our eyes to the suffering of women around the world.
The sequence of the stoning is so real and strong but needed to send it's brutal message. I went to see it twice, and twice the people around me were crying, even coming out of the theater you could see the track of their tears.
A shattering and powerful film, one of the best movies I've ever seen. The two main actresses,Shohreh Aghdasloo and Mozhan Marno are amazing and braves for giving voice and dignity to this two women who live their life surrounded by oppression, injustice, and pain.
A movie that everybody needs to see!!!!
