Review of The Sting (1973) by Mark L — 04 Jun 2011
I had forgotten what a truly wonderful film this was. Everything about it from the costumes to the cast and script are just about as fine as you can get. And who of us who were around in 1973 can fail to be moved by that wonderful Scott Joplin music? I think it was one of many strokes of genius.
I have seen this film a number of times, though not recently and I still find great value in the work. What a shame we rarely see this same dedication to detail and quality in both the script and the staging in today's films.
I love this movie.
