Review of The Stepford Wives (2004) by Claire B — 09 Nov 2009
This remake of the 1975 original received a lot less credit than it deserved, mostly on account of it being so thoroughly odd. That is on account of the story though, as the story itself is decidedly odd.
Steady performances from Kidman and Broderick keep the movie alive, and supporting performances from Midler, Close and Walken keep it interesting. On the whole, a fine movie with good performances, but not a standout.
