Review of The Stepford Wives (2004) by Kevin K — 02 Aug 2009
Second time watching it. Still quite alright movie. Nicole Kidman & Matthew Broderick are husband and wife. She is a top TV producer until her latest reality program backfire and she was fired. She got into depression.
Matthew quit his job too and the family moves to Stepford. Glenn Close is so friendly. Christopher Walken is her husband. The wives are so perfect and so obedient. Over at the Stepford Man Association, they show Matthew the Stepford wives technology.
At first Bette Midler and Roger Bart are normal. Then Roger got transformed. Bette was next. Nicole is freaked out and is going to move out. She checked the internet and found out all the wives were once successful big shot women.
She intends to fetch her kids at the camp but Matthew got to them first. The secret is out and she got trap. At the party, Matthew sneaked into the lab and reverse all the wives microchips inplanted in their brain, and all were back to normal.
Nicole didn't go through the transformation at all because Matthew didn't want it. It turns out Christopher Walken is a robot and Glenn Close is the mastermind of all these. She was once a top neuro surgeon and one day find he husband having affair with her assistant.
She realise she was too busy with work. She wanted to create a fantasy place with perfect woman and man.
