Review of The Stepfather (1987) by Jessica G — 27 Dec 2007
It was actually really good, Terry O'Quinn is PERFECT as the manipulative stepfather that marries into a new family after murdering his other family. I thought the directing was very good, the opening to the movie is simply brilliant!
It also was unexpected at times, Jerry (the stepfather) isn't a "stupid" murderer who trips and falls all the time, he outsmarts the "good guys" and really uses all that he can to gain control.
The downside however was the terrible actors. While Terry was brilliant, there were only two minor characters who had good actors, the rest were awful, especially the mom and daughter, which brings down the movie.
Still, I really enjoyed it and I recommend to at least see it once.
