Review of The Stepfather (1987) by Jeremy P — 03 Feb 2010
Highlighted by Terry O'Quinn's powerhouse performance, The Stepfather is a classic 80's suspense-horror film that proves it's not always about the gore. Quinn stars as a psychopath who moves from relationship to relationship, killing as he sees them falling apart.
O'Quinn is so good in this film that one can actually see him being a killer like this...one of the all-time great villain performances to be sure. Schoelen and Hack are also quite good as the daughter and mother that he is currently targeting.
Highly recommended.
