Review of The Steel Helmet (1951) by Karl V — 04 Mar 2008

This is an interesting movie: with griffith park in los angeles standing in for the mountains of korea, this movie came out a mere 6 months after hostilities began on that peninsula. apparently sam fuller turned down a studio offer to make this movie with john wayne as the lead.

I can't imagine it wouldn't have suffered if he'd taken the money and done it with the duke. an oddly ambiguous war movie for the time. interesting. I like it!
