There are reasons to like it and more to hate it. Dr. Zimbardo, in my opinion, is a sadistic prick, rivaling the guards in his ability to detach himself from his emotions. That is, if he's capable of having any.

This experiment, as well as the movie, went on far longer than it should have, driven by a personal need to prove something. Its relevance apparent as human nature takes over very quickly here, we see the guards become drunk with power and the prisoners quickly lose a sense of who they are.

Riveting performances by all but the epilogue wasn't long enough or forthcoming. They had way more explaining to do than we got. Zimbardo should have been terminated or at the very least, ostracized by his colleagues.
