Review of The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015) by Richard S — 03 Feb 2017
This is the 3rd version I have seen regarding the events of the Stanford prison experiment. The first was the German film Das Experiment which was a film simply inspired by the events of 1971 and was quite terrifying. The 2nd was the Adrien Brody and Forest Whitaker starring The Experiment which again was only inspired by the events in Stanford and a close remake of the German movie. The 3rd is the first that follows the actual experiment itself. Human behaviour and this experiment in particular has always fascinated me, hence my reasons for watching 3 different movies about the same event.
I thought this movie was really good, the young actors playing the participants were spot on and it still amazes me now after only just 6 days into a 14 day experiment the plug was pulled because of the concerning behaviour of many of the participants. It's a tense and claustrophobic movie, well worth seeing.
