Review of The Squid and the Whale (2005) by Benjamin X — 06 Nov 2008
COME ON. This is like if Wes Anderson suddenly wanted to pervert the entire way he expresses his stories. As opposed to offering understated solutions and at least attempts at redemption "Noah Baumbach" just wallows around in his high class agony.
I don't know if that's what's actually wrong with this movie, but something definitely is.
