Review of The Squid and the Whale (2005) by Adhitama R — 23 Mar 2009
A good, even if a bit TV-ish, drama film about a family going through a divorce. Good actors (Linney is my favorite female actor at the moment) keep the film together when story sometimes grinds down. Odd decision to set the film on the 80s makes for odd anachronistic mistakes of late-model cars in 1986 NYC.
A good one. Todd Solondoz, but without the all-consuming nihilism.
