Review of The Squid and the Whale (2005) by Rapunzel R — 25 Dec 2010
This film features an eccentric family with an eccentric life. Another Art House & International genre film. (Indie film.) haha ^_^ This drama isn't as dramatic as it's synopsis, but I loved the whole film. If you're not that interested in movies like this, then I guess there's no point in forcing you to like it, but really though, about 10 minutes into the film I was already hooked. it was very realistic given the fact that the events in their lives were very realistic yet unusual for regular families. :).
Still, it's an indie must-watch film. ^_^ In 2006, it earned almost 15 nominations for the film. That same year it was voted as the best screenplay for that year's set of films released.
PS JESSE EISENBERG is the bomb. haha.
Did you know? The film was shot on Super 16mm, mostly using a handheld camera.
