Review of The Squid and the Whale (2005) by Reece L — 31 Mar 2015
Through a focus on the insanely awkward interactions that come out of divorce, "The Squid and the Whale" finds truth and humor in a field most would never consider funny. This wouldn't be possible without strong performances, and everyone involved brings their A-game.
Baumbach's script is remarkable in that it's able to cultivate universal themes through intense specificity.
