Over-hyped and over-rated. This movie tries to be more then it really is. I don't think Noah Baumbach even knows anyone who has even gone through a divorce. The kids in the movie are way too old to be dramatically effected by their parents divorce.
For the most part, the parents handled the separation rather amicably. There are definitely worse cases. I think everyone in the movie over-acted in order to be more melodramatic. I don't care what anyone says, but Jesse Eisenberg can't act.
He is emotionless. He is dull. I'm pretty sure he is a robot.
