Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Ivan S — 25 Nov 2012
Definitely Roger Moore's best outing as Bond. The villain is good and his henchman, Jaws, is awesome and unique. The film is not a campy mess like the rest of the 70s EON productions, this one manages to take itself a bit more seriously, and Moore is more reserved than usual, and he feels more like the killer the character is more so here than in any of his other features.
There is a little bit of that camp charm that is Roger Moore, but the film doesn't ever make you roll your eyes as much as in the other features from the period (for instance there is no wacky redneck sheriff).
One of the few Moore films I truly enjoyed, and would recommend.
