Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Donald S — 16 Oct 2008
While Sean Connery has Goldfinger as his definitive Bond movie, Roger Moore has The Spy Who Loved Me. The plot is unique when it comes to this movie, missing submarines bring two enemies at the time, The Democratic West (UK, James Bond) and Communist Russia's (USSR) top agent triple X (and no not the crappy Vin Desiel movie).
Connery had Oddjob, Moore had Jaws a cold-blooded steel toothed giant...until he becomes a cartoon nearly the end of the movie. There are numerous exotic locales in this movie and an interesting villian Karl Stomberg, a man who wants to use nuclear sub weapons, and .
.. you guess it take over the world. This movie was over the top in a good way an is one of Moore's better films.
