Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Kevin H — 06 Apr 2009
Once again Bond returns to form after a bad movie and Roger Moore gives his first great performance in the role. Featuring some of the greatest sets (Liparus tanker, Atlantis), henchmen (Jaws) and gadgets (Lotus car) in any Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me is a classic.
Lewis Gilbert plays films this as a more serious movie, a departure for Moore's usual comedic style and Barbara Bach is one of the hottest Bond girls of all time. Of special note is the opening sequence featuring Rick Sylvester's death-defying leap from a massive cliff.
