Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Leigh G — 03 Dec 2012
A silly film to be sure but the glowing star of the Roger Moore era. The film opens with Bond killing Major Anya Amasova or "Triple X" 's boyfriend. She vows revenge when she encounters the spy who did this.
The two unknowing of their link are paired together on a soviet-british mission to cease the millionaire Stromberg's mission to destroy the world and rebuild civilization underwater whcih he deems "The New Atlantis.
" Of course the sexual innuendos aren't as frequent as in later Moore films, but this film that introduced the villain Jaws, didn't escape the main female lead played by Barbara Back to be named Triple X.
I couldn't help but like it and surprisingly Bach was not only quite beautiful but had peculiar acting talent in a series that normally ignores this.
