Review of The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) by Thomas P — 14 Oct 2016
Perfectly walks the line between wild adventure and cheeky farce with the ultimate in exotic locations and great villains - hello indestructible Jaws!
Roger Moore is in top form and full throttle action mode.
This set a precedent at the time before the decline into too much farce, and later when the franchise fumbled around trying to find another Bond until the solid Daniel Craig reset the high watermark.
The adventure is timeless, and bc it struck such a popular chord at the time, it now is a bit dated w the disco beat and other flourishes.
Fear not tho, its still a completely enthralling ride - dashing wink and grin included.
Enjoy!
