Review of The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018) by Art L — 03 Aug 2018
This was a movie made by women, for women, not merely to *appeal* to women. It's the first spy movie I've ever seen from a female gaze. The main characters are dolled up sex kittens somehow executing stunts in stillettos.
In fact, they can barely do any stunts at all, which is hilarious and a dose of reality I appreciated. Yes, Kate McKinnon steals the show. The friendship between Kate and Mila's characters is great, and very true to many friendships I've had/have as a grown woman; friends supporting each other, friends not letting a man come between them, friends who's only wish for each other is success and happiness.
I laughed the entire way through and wished it was longer. Highly recommend!
