Review of The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965) by Mathieu C — 29 Aug 2007
Bourne is the antiBond of the 21st Century; Burton's Alec Leamas was the equivalent to Connery's 007. This has been held up as Burton's career-best and it's not hard to see why: he's perfectly cast as the miserable British agent caught in a malicious spider's web of spying.
His bitter monologue near the end deserves a rewind.
