Review of The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965) by Pavandeep S — 29 Oct 2008
I have yet to read the book and will as I get it but I had a bit of spoiler and can see maybe Ritt's political discernment in the ending, which differs if I'm not wrong, but then again, I might just be wrong.
A really wonderful film, very gritty and one of my favourites in terms of cinematography. Also, the last 30 to 40 minutes were rather interesting with a healthy dose of Hollywood and expressionism to bring out what is a really intriguing court scene but diffused through a lack of anything resembling tension.
This allows us to see the dirty side in its purity and boy was it fun to see.
