Review of The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965) by Keith E — 30 May 2009
Now this is how you make a spy thriller. Bond is silly, Bourne is ridiculous, Leamas is real. Espionage doesn't happen with a girl on each arm and a flying speedboat. Espionage happens in back rooms with real human stakes. This movie is absolutely riveting in its methodical machinations.
Gorgeous black & white photography and a palpable world-weariness from a never better Richard Burton.
I may just watch this again this week. Strongly recommended.
