Review of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015) by Alan W — 14 Jun 2015
Amazingly, the most original/interesting film so far, one that I can truly say I had no idea how the story line will develop and go from one plot point to another, is the SpongeBob movie aimed at kids and stoners alike.
A most subversive and insane experience where I find the anarchic narrative and the absence of logic totally charming and watchable. There is simply an element of joyous and innocent fun throughout the film that is undeniably addictive, and the playful use of timelines is so deliciously random, it beats many other more serious adult dramas or thrillers at almost making sense of it all.
Bravo indeed.
